David Moulton Fired By Beasley Broadcasting

Beasley Broadcasting has decided to part ways with 99.3 ESPN Radio afternoon host David Moulton. The move comes after Moulton spoke candidly to The News-Press about his dissatisfaction with the station’s decision to fire his longtime partner Mark Miller months ago.

Moulton, writes a column for the newspaper two times per week, and initially declined to comment on the situation. He’s since addressed the situation in a column in The News-Press.

99.3 ESPN Radio program director Chris Beasley confirmed that the station will alter its lineup moving forward. Gentry Thomas, who replaced Miller alongside Moulton on the afternoon show, will slide into middays alongside Beasley, weekdays from 10a-2p ET. The afternoon slot is presently being occupied by ESPN Radio’s “The Dan Le Batard Show”.

During his conversation with The News-Press, Moulton said he had a difficult time envisioning working for the company through the end of his contract, which was set to expire in late September. He acknowledged being interested in a reunion with Miller on local competitor FOX Sports Radio (97.3 FM, 1240 and 1270 AM) or another station in the market if there was interest.

Moulton also stated that the company didn’t inform him or provide any explanation when they decided to fire his partner of 10 years. That left the relationship fractured and unlikely to be repaired.

Now the question is, will Miller and Moulton be reunited? And if so, when and where will they be heard?
