Ed McCaffrey Exits Broncos Booth, Denver Sports 760

For the past five years, Ed McCaffrey has been a fixture on Denver Broncos radio broadcasts on KOA News Radio 850. Along the way the former wide receiver turned color analyst became a weekday talk show host when iHeartmedia (KOA’s parent company) decided to launch Denver Sports 760 in 2015.

But despite owning radio real estate which would make many in the Denver market envious, McCaffrey has announced on Instagram that it’s time to pursue a different path. The next one he says will include enjoying game days at home, alongside his wife and kids.

With McCaffrey leaving, his weekday partner Andy Lindahl confirmed on Twitter that he’ll be continuing as host of the midday show on Denver Sports 760. Whether that includes a new partner in the future or not remains to be seen.

KOA 850 will begin exploring possibilities to replace McCaffrey’s analyst position on Broncos broadcasts. No word at this time if there’s a leader in the clubhouse. Stay tuned.
