SiriusXM Announces SEC Radio Plans

SiriusXM SEC Radio, the satellite company’s new audio channel focused on SEC sports, launches Monday, March 5th. The 24/7 channel will offer a combination of SEC-driven sports talk programming, plus an extensive schedule of SEC games, including every game of next week’s men’s conference basketball tournament.

To give the channel a boost with reaching its target audience, SiriusXM has unveiled a strong lineup with a number of familiar on-air personalities.

SEC This Morning, starts the day and will be hosted by Peter Burns and former LSU All-American Marcus Spears. The show will air weekdays from 7a-10a ET. Chris Childers and University of Florida Hall of Famer Chris Doering will lead listener’s home in afternoons during SEC Today, which airs weekdays from 3p-6p ET. The channel will replay of SEC Network’s popular The Paul Finebaum Show weekday evenings from 6p-10p ET. Finebaum’s show will continue airing live on ESPN Xtra, SiriusXM channel 81.

Additional hosts and analysts who will be a part of SEC Radio include former Auburn head coach Gene Chizik; Senior Bowl Executive Director Phil Savage; former University of Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray; former Georgia lineman Matt Stinchcomb; and broadcasters Doug Bell and Braden Gall.

The network will also feature college coaches shows, press conferences, classic SEC game broadcasts, coverage of SEC Media Days, simulcasts of SEC Network programming, and more.

  1. Chris Childers is a mistake. He is childish and has a nasty mouth. Braden Gall is much more professional, more knowledgeable and a better choice. I have listed to Chris as he has worked his way up. He does a great job interviewing people.
