After joining Barstool Sports eight months ago, Julie Stewart-Binks is no longer with the company, the former morning radio host announced on Twitter.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time working for Barstool Sports and Sirius XM. Thanks to Erika and Dave for an incredible experience and good luck to all the talented people I had the chance to work with. I have decided to take some time to decide my next career move,” tweeted Stewart-Binks.
Stewart-Binks joined Barstool in September, after prior stops at Fox Sports and ESPN, launching “The Barstool Tailgate Show” on Facebook Watch. The show, co-hosted by Stewart-Binks, Pat McAfee and Barstool founder Dave Portnoy, lasted only six weeks before being cancelled.
Barstool Sports launched their 24/7 radio channel on SiriusXM, January 17th, prominently featuring Stewart-Binks in the morning with Willie Colon and Francis Ellis. While a specific reason for Stewart-Binks’ departure was not given, Ellis did say it was fair to categorize her leaving the show as being “released.”
“It was great working with her and I’m sure she’ll be successful in whatever she decides to do next,” Portnoy further told The Big Lead.
After eight months with Barstool, it seems like Julie Stewart-Binks decided she wasn’t a good fit for the brand. Whether or not she will be replaced on Barstool Breakfast has not been announced.
