Sirius/XM Rolls Out Coverage Plans for British Open

Sirius/XM and its PGA Tour Radio channel have announced their plans for coverage of the 147th Open Championship, which will be played in Angus, Scotland next week. Play-by-play coverage will air on the special The Open Radio channel (Sirius channel 208 and XM channel 92) starting on the 18th and running through the 22nd.

There will also be plenty of specialty talk programming from Scotland hosted by the likes of Mark Calcavecchia and other past major champions. Taylor Zarzour and former PGA tour pro Carl Paulson will host a two-hour daily wrap up each day as well.

The company touted the uniqueness of the event and the need for special coverage in a press release.

“SiriusXM listeners will get exceptional coverage throughout the week of The Open as it plays out at Carnoustie, one of golf’s oldest and most storied venues,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM’s President and Chief Content Officer.  “Our listeners will get nearly 50 hours of play-by-play from the course, a lineup of programming that features shows hosted by many former Open competitors, and a special look back at Open history.”
