ESPN to Debut Four-Part Bama Series in August

ESPN has been filming in Tuscaloosa throughout the summer in preparation for a new miniseries this August. The show, which will be called Training Days: Rolling With the Tide is a production of JM Associates and Sport & Story in association with ESPN.

Producers were given full access to Alabama’s spring and summer programs. That means cameras were in cloud door meetings with Nick Saban and his staff as well as at practices that were closed to other media. It is probably safe to assume the quarterback battle between incumbent starter Jalen Hurts and College Football National Championship Game hero Tua Tugaviloa will take centerstage.

College football has been a key piece of ESPN’s programming puzzle for decades. The network’s vice president of production Lee Fitting, said in a press release that Alabama’s recent success under Nick Saban has made stories involving that program some of the most followed in the sport.

The intrigue behind their championship-filled decade and the fans’ appetite for unique access continues to escalate. This series will provide a unique perspective of the Crimson Tide as they build upon a foundation for what they hope is another championship campaign. We appreciate Coach Nick Saban and the entire Alabama operation for allowing us inside their walls over the next month.

Training Days: Rolling With the Tide debuts on ESPN on August 9th.
