Boomer to Broadcast Final Westwood One Game Thursday

Boomer Esiason will not be a part of Westwood One’s Monday Night Football broadcasts in 2018. He will be in the booth one last time though for the season opener. On Thursday night the Philadelphia Eagles will host the Atlanta Falcons. Esiason will be in the booth for Kevin Harlan to call the game and to be honored by the network he has provided color analysis for for the last 18 seasons.

Kurt Warner will replace Esiason this season. His first broadcast with Harlan will be Monday night September 10 when the Rams and Raiders meet in Oakland. It will be the second part of a Monday night double header, and the final NFL broadcast of Westwood One’s first week of games.

This is the 32nd year that Westwood One has provided NFL coverage. The network will broadcast 69 games to over 500 affiliates in 2018. The schedule includes two games from London, the NFL’s entire Thanksgiving triple-header, and 12 postseason games including Super Bowl LII.

Harlan returns for his ninth season as the radio voice of Monday Night Football. Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald will both return as contributors to the pre-game broadcast.
