ESPN college football play-by-play man Mark Jones will not be working on any broadcasts featuring the Washington Huskies for the foreseeable future. Jones tweeted a shot at the sixth-ranked Huskies’ schedule after the team lost to fellow top ten team Auburn in its season opener.
Washington Huskies took one one on the chin. Where’s Montana ?

It is a reference to a spat between the school and ESPN that dates back to last season when Huskies coach Chris Peterson complained about his team always playing at 10pm on the East Coast. The cast of ESPN’s College Gameday responded the following day that Washington’s schedule gave them no reason to put the team on in primetime. That was followed by a broadcast featuring Jones, where this happened.
Jones was not the one that performed the cupcake demonstration in the video, but the fact that he was on the broadcast and then sent out a tweet that seemingly refenced it nearly a year late did not sit well with the University of Washington or the Pac-12. The conference reportedly requested that ESPN not allow Jones to cover the team for the remainder of the season.
