The Yankees and Red Sox rivalry has been a little more one-sided this season than either the teams or baseball fans were anticipating. The teams’ radio broadcasters are adding some spice to next week’s series in The Bronx.
Red Sox play-by-play man Tim Neverett took to Twitter yesterday to announce “Rivalry in the Booth.” The promotion will see Neverette and Yankees play-by-play man John Sterling call the game on WEEI in Boston. Listeners to WFAN in New York will hear Joe Castiglione of the Red Sox broadcast team and Suzyn Waldman of the Yankees broadcast team.

The Rivalry in the Booth will not be a series-long promotion. Neverett’s tweet says that the broadcasting shuffle will be for the September 18th game only.
