The Boston Celtics will be calling 98.5 the Sports Hub their home on radio for the foreseeable future. The team has come to terms with the Beasley Media Group property on a multi-year extension for its play-by-play rights. 98.5 the Sports Hub has been the Celtics’ play-by-play home in Boston since 2013. Sean Grande and Cedric “Cornbread” Maxwell call each game.
The new deal also means that Celtics GM and President of Operations, Danny Ainge, will continue to make weekly appearances on The Sports Hub’s morning show Toucher & Rich and head coach, Brad Stevens, will continue to make weekly appearances on Zolak & Bertrand in the afternoons. Big Jim Murray and Chris Gasper, from The Boston Globe, will host The Celtics Show every Saturday at noon. The show will then be made available on demand as a podcast.
