Orlando Alzugaray Exits WQAM

Orlando Alzugaray announced he was let go from WQAM in Miami.

A radio veteran, Alzugaray hosted WQAM’s midday program, The Big O Show from 10am – 2pm for the last four years.  Alzugaray was on the air as recently as Tuesday, WQAM did not announce a permanent replacement.

“I appreciate the love and concern. Life is absolutely fantastic, I have an amazing family, great friends like all of you out there that have supported me through the years. Trust me I will bounce back, I always do,” Tweeted Alzugaray.

This was Alzugaray’s second stint with WQAM, the first lasting from 1997 – 2010, with his most recent tenure beginning in 2014.  Following his first departure from WQAM in 2010, Alzugaray spent time at WMEN 640 in West Palm Beach.

In addition to his regular show on WQAM, Alzugaray has served as a columnist for The Athletic Miami as well as hosting weekends on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Radio, both are roles he will continue.  Alzugaray can be heard on Mad Dog Radio Saturday from 3 – 7pm ET and Sunday from 11am – 1pm ET.
