Wayne Randazzo Likely Headed To Mets’ Radio Booth

Wayne Randazzo is the favorite to replace Josh Lewin in the New York Mets’ radio booth according to Andrew Marchand of The New York Post. Randazzo and WCBS brass are just beginning negotiations on a deal that would move the broadcaster from the team’s pre-and-postgame shows to a play-by-play role opposite Howie Rose. He may also continue to host the team’s postgame show according to Marchand.

Lewin left New York last month when it was clear he would not be making the move from WOR to WCBS with the Mets. He will join the San Diego Padres’ radio broadcast next season in a combined studio and play-by-play role.

There may also be a shakeup related to the Mets’ presence at Entercom in New York. Ed Coleman, WFAN’s Mets’ reporter hasn’t determined if he will cover the team in 2019. Marchand reports that several possibilities exist for Coleman. He could remain in his current role or become part of the game broadcast. He has also discussed retiring.

If he chooses the latter, Marchand reports that WCBS’s morning sports anchor Brad Heller is the favorite to take over as WFAN’s Mets reporter.
