Now you can add “pays off others’ bets” to the list of things that makes the Oklahoma State coach stand out from his peers.
Gundy sent a handwritten note and a $250 check to WWLS morning man Ron “Spinozi” Benton after he heard that the host lost money betting on the Cowboys to win 8 games in 2018. The team finished 6-6 this season, with the potential to win only its bowl matchup with Missouri left on the schedule.
For those that either cannot read the coach’s handwriting, or do not have immaculate vision, the note reads:
“I have many H.S. buddies who consume way too much alcohol, which leads to listening to talk radio. The rumor is you bet on our team and lost your money. We came up short so I thought the manly [51] thing to do is reimburse a guy for believing in our TEAM. Thanks for your loyal support!”
