Former FOX broadcast partners Ron Pitts and Mike Martz have a new podcast out. The show, called Run it Again, made its debut on Tuesday. The show is distributed through Benztown and the McVay Media Podcast Network.
Ron Pitts was a cornerback out of UCLA drafted in the 7th round in 1985. He spent six seasons in the NFL with the Bills and Packers. After that, he made a career in broadcasting, most prominently at FOX as a sideline reporter for the team of Pat Summerall and John Madden.
Mike Martz led the St. Louis Rams to a Super Bowl appearance as the team’s head coach. He made the move to the broadcast booth in 2012 as a game analyst. Pitts, who had moved into a play-by-play role by that time, was his broadcast partner.
The podcast promises to elevate sports conversation. A post on the Run It Again website says the show “isn’t crazy about box scores and hyper analytics” and aims to bring a fresh perspective to games and stories.
