Fans of college football’s defending national champs will likely have a vested interest in the Super Bowl champs in 2020. That is why ESPN 104.5 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana has joined the Kansas City Chiefs Radio Network.
Tyran Matthieu, affectionately known as the Honey Badger to LSU fans, returns to the Chiefs to defend the team’s Super Bowl title in 2020. He’ll have a fellow Tiger on the roster this year. Kansas City selected Baton Rouge native and All-SEC running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire with the final pick in the first round of April’s NFL Draft.
ESPN 104.5 is also the home to Westwood One’s Thursday Night, Sunday Night, and Monday Night Football in Baton Rouge. Sister station Eagle 98.1 is the market’s New Orleans Saints affiliate.
“We are thrilled to be airing a minimum of six NFL games every weekend to our listeners in South Louisiana,” VP/GM of Guaranty Media, Gordy Rush said in a press release. “Louisiana loves its football and we will be serving up an extra serving of the NFL this fall.”
The Kansas City Chiefs moved their radio flagship to Entercom’s 106.5 the Wolf and 610 Sports. The radio network has more than 70 affiliates across the country.
