Chris Wallace Comes to Fauci’s Defense Over COVID-19 Origins

Over the last few days, many have argued the origins of COVID-19 and whether it was a virus was manufactured.

Republicans have gone after White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci criticizing and accusing him of not being forthcoming about the source of the coronavirus.

Despite the criticism Fauci faces, Fox News’s Chris Wallace came to the defense of the White House chief medical adviser regarding the emails.

“There’s no smoking gun there,” Wallace said. “This is highly political. You’re seeing it as a major talking point for Republicans.”

Recently released email correspondence between him and others at the early stages of the pandemic seemed to question whether the virus is manufactured in a lab.

“We outta take the politics out of this,” Wallace said. “I think there certainly has been too much politics already.”

“When Donald Trump, back when he was president, suggested that China may have played a role in it, that it wasn’t a naturally occurring virus, I think there was a knee-jerk reaction from some Democrats. From some people in the media, to say, ‘Well, if Trump says this is a possibility, it can’t be a possibility.”
