Late-night host Stephen Colbert is coming to audio as “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” announced their new daily podcast, “The Late Show Pod Show with Stephen Colbert.”
“Do you love television but hate the visuals? Do you wish you could get the freshest topical comedy one day later? Do you have one or more ears?” If you answered yes to any of these questions,” Colbert says in the trailer for the podcast.
“You’re going to love our new podcast, “The Late Show Pod Show with Stephen Colbert.” Every day, you get everything you love about the “Late Show in convenient pod form.
The program is available anywhere users listen to their favorite audio shows on October 25th, but Megaphone, a Spotify company, will serve as the podcast host.
“It has our ripped from the headlines monologues, the meanwhiliest meanwhiles and scintillating interviews with newsmakers and celebrities all baked fresh and delivered piping hot straight to your podcast feed,” Colbert adds.
The showcast contains the same audio dialogue as the visual show. So those who prefer the audio version will still get the monologues, performances, and conversations with guests the late-night show is known for, except they’ll be receiving the show the following day so they can listen to it.
“The podcast space is growing exponentially, and it proves that audiences are consuming their content in a variety of ways across platforms that serve their needs,” Chris Licht, showrunner and executive producer of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” said.
“As we continue to grow Stephen’s overall brand, we’re excited to officially launch this audio experience for ‘Late Show’ fans.”
