Podcaster Joe Rogan finds himself in the spotlight again after Spotify decided to pull over 100 episodes due to some containing racially insensitive language. He would later apologize in a video post on his Instagram account.
Nonetheless, Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports posted a video on various social media platforms relating his experience to Rogan’s when it comes to those digging up his past.
“This is a coordinated attack, and nobody knows it; I may be the most uniquely aware of what it’s like to go through this because it happens to me,” Portnoy said. “It’s coordinated, and at the end of the day, it’s about power.”
“I feel like this has happened to me switched into people view him as a political I don’t know him well enough I don’t think he’s ever viewed himself that way.”
This controversy for Rogan is coming off the heels of dealing with Covid-19 misinformation on his podcast. The podcaster did state that he would “do better” in the future by interviewing “more experts with differing opinions right after I have the controversial ones” on the show, hoping it helps “balance things out.”
Rogan also promised to “make sure that I’ve researched these topics” before talking about them. Despite the controversy, Rogan’s exclusive audio streaming platform, Spotify, continues to stick by him. CEO Daniel Ek said, “It’s too early to know” whether the controversy will make an impact.
