White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is on her way out of the position as she reportedly joins MSNBC. May 13th will be her final day, and she recently sat down with Fox News’ “Media Buzz” with Howard Kurtz regarding her time with the Biden Administration.
Psaki stated that she’s dealing with many emotions as her final day in the White House is only a couple of days away.
“I don’t think anybody could do this job as White House press secretary if they didn’t value the role of the press and the media. And I do. Even on days where we disagree, on days we debate,” Psaki said. “This is the greatest job I’ve ever had. Maybe the greatest job I ever have.”
Last week, Psaki officially announced that she was leaving the podium but declined to state what her plans held, only adding that her replacement, Karine Jean-Pierre, would bring “integrity” to the difficult job of being the spokesperson for the Biden – Harris administration.
Psaki maintained she was leaving her position because of her children and her husband, not because of any impending offer that had been agreed upon.
“I always knew that having worked in the White House before, that this was not a job I could do forever,” Psaki said. “It is a huge honor to do it, no matter where you are in your life. But I don’t want to miss things with my kids, and I don’t want to miss moments or soccer practices or ballet recitals or anything.”
Two weeks ago, Psaki told CNN’s Chris Wallace that she had nothing to announce regarding widely speculated reports that she is headed to MSNBC.
