Candace Owens, Jason Whitlock React to Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing Exiting: ‘This is a Good Thing’

Date:

The Daily Wire CEO Jeremy Boreing is stepping down from his role atop the conservative digital entity. Candace Owens and Jason Whitlock believe it should be celebrated.

Owens, a former Daily Wire employee who was fired from the company last year after public clashes with Ben Shapiro and Boreing, shared a mild reaction to the news on her podcast.

“Jeremy is unlike any CEO that I have ever worked with and have ever worked for. He is a total anomaly,” said Owens of the Daily Wire CEO. “For The Daily Wire, this sounds like they’re all happy about the decision. I think it’s okay for us to also say that we are very happy for The Daily Wire in this decision. I suspect much more will come out now that kind of figurative dam has broken.”

“I think this is a good thing for the company, is what I would say. I think it is a very good thing for the company. I’m just going to have to leave it at that for right now, until I learn whether or not I can say more than that,” she added.

Jason Whitlock recently traded barbs with Jeremy Boreing on social media over an idea pitched by Ben Shapiro that President Donald Trump should pardon the police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd in 2020.

Whitlock shared his opinion that Boreing was more interested in being the face of the digital media outlet instead of running it as an executive, saying that the situation was “the beginning of his crash out.”

“I’m sorry for speculating, but my years of experience in the media and seeing how when you have a CEO that actually wants to play quarterback rather than general manager, he wants to be in the game and making plays, I’ve seen this before,” said Whitlock. “I’ve been in this business since 1990. And I’m just trying to use all of my years of collective wisdom to understand what’s going on over at The Daily Wire.”

Boreing has been with The Daily Wire since he and Ben Shapiro co-founded the outlet in 2015. Boreing has served as co-CEO alongside Caleb Robinson since 2019. Robinson will take sole possession of the CEO title in the wake of Boreing’s exit from the role.

Outside of confirming reports of his exit, Jeremy Boreing has not made any further public statements about the situation.
