Here we are wrapping up May and heading into June, and looking for Hits On The Horizon that may make the Summer of 2025 memorable.
Let’s get into the potential hits this week with a look at the Pop/Hot AC world.
If your ears have not spent any time with Damiano David / “Voices,” you need to change that equation quickly. The lead singer for Maneskin has a very catchy solo song on his hands.
Next up, MGK / “Cliché” has a good hook and is for sure something your ears should be on! Also, don’t sleep on Tate McRae / “Revolving Door.” Top 40 stations leading the way include KIIS-LA and KYLD (Wild) in SF.
Let’s move to the Rock universe. One that you should get your ears on if they are not already is Girl Tones / “Blame.” I’m also really liking The Black Keys / “No Rain, No Flowers.” The First-week streaming numbers are north of 700,000. Some key adopters already include WFUV in New York, WXPN in Philadelphia, and The Spectrum at SiriusXM.
One that is good for the Active Rock space is Rise Against / “I Want It All.” Early adopter WJRR in Orlando is already on board.
Time to explore the Country space this week with Chase McDaniel / “Burned Down Heaven” sounding like a potential hit to me. Lainey Wilson / “Somewhere Over Laredo” is on the way to being another super smash, judging by all the early believers at radio.
Another one to get into your ears would be Lauren Alaina feat. Chase Matthew / “All My Exes”. The streaming story for this is light for now by Country standards. But the song is hooky and could become something.
The Rhythm/Dance/Hip-Hop choices this week include Giveon / “Rather Be” with a streaming story that is over 3 million a week. This song has a great groove to it!
Coco Jones / “On Sight” has a rising streaming story, surpassing 1 million this week, and a few early radio believers, including 92Q Jams in Baltimore, Hot 103 Jamz in KC, and V-103 in Atlanta, are all on board so far.
One final choice for you to consider this week is JT / “Ran Out.” It’s a song with a good hook!
