Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky is staying at ESPN, as he is expected to sign an extension with the network. According to a report in The Athletic, Orlovsky’s new deal remains unsigned, but the terms of the agreement have been agreed to. The former signal caller will continue appearing on ESPN’s NFL Live and will remain part of Monday Night Football’s second broadcast team with Chris Fowler and Louis Riddick Jr., along with his other daily tasks for the network.

Meanwhile, The Athletic is reporting that Orlovsky was in discussions with CBS regarding their college football vacancy, which was created by Gary Danielson retiring after the upcoming season. However, the network ultimately decided on Charles Davis to fill the role for the retiring Danielson.

Additionally, Orlovsky has been hinting on social media that something was being worked on behind the scenes, as he’s been away from ESPN television for some time.

Orlovsky joined ESPN in 2018 following his first role in sports media as an analyst for the NFL Network. He experienced a 12-year career as an NFL quarterback after being selected by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Moreover, he also played for the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Since joining ESPN, he has served as both a college football and NFL analyst. He has appeared on NFL Live and a variety of other ESPN studio programming, in addition to calling a weekly ESPN/ABC college football game during the fall.

Notably, Orlovsky began appearing regularly on NFL Live in 2019. In addition to contributing to ESPN’s weekday NFL news and information show, he is also a regular contributor to Get Up, SportsCenter, First Take, and other ESPN television and radio shows.

As of now, ESPN has not officially commented on the report in The Athletic.
