Keith Hernandez has reached an agreement with SportsNet New York to return to the TV booth this season for NY Mets broadcasts. The contract for the former Mets 1st Baseman was set to expire at the end of January, and the two sides had been negotiating a new deal since December.

Both of Hernandez’s partners, Gary Cohen and Ron Darling are still under contract to SNY.

A few sources wondered whether or not a deal would get done, as the network last year spoke highly of former Mets Pitcher Bob Ojeda, only to part ways with him afterwards. In this case, there’s no longer anything to worry about as the Mets broadcasting trio is now signed, sealed and delivered.
