KTRS Promotes Heuer and Adds More Play by Play

“The Big 550” KTRS-AM in St. Louis announced earlier this week that they had reached a new three year deal to remain the radio home for University of Missouri football and men’s basketball broadcasts. Now, they’ve got a few more additions to promote.

First, the radio station has signed a two-year deal to carry home games of the St. Louis Football Club soccer team.

Second, the radio station has promoted Jim Heuer to the position of Sports Director, replacing John Hadley who was terminated last month.

Heuer has been a member of KTRS’ sports department for 19 years and General Manager Mark Dorsey says he’s ready to lead the department and the next step will be to add a sportscaster, bringing a new voice to the market. He adds that there isn’t a lot of fresh blood coming through the pipeline and the radio station would like to bring in someone new to help create a new approach and sound.
