KFNS Looks To Capitalize On The Curt Schilling Saga

590 The Fan, KFNS-AM in St. Louis is taking advantage of the recent stir created by Curt Schilling’s political comments by offering the former Pitcher turned ESPN Baseball Analyst a contract to join the radio station.

New KFNS morning host Dino Costa, who has also been given the title of director of programming and content, said the radio station has a multi-year, six-figure contract ready for Schilling should he agree to join the station’s lineup. As part of joining the radio station, Schilling would have full autonomy to discuss any sports and political issues he wishes.

“When I heard that Curt was on the verge of possibly being censored again by ESPN, or suspended again by ESPN, or maybe even being terminated, by ESPN, I felt sick to my stomach” said Costa. “Apparently when you work with ESPN you must agree to turn off any personal opinion if that opinion doesn’t mesh with ESPN’s own sports and political philosophy. ESPN’s hypocrisy knows no end.”

Schilling recently appeared on 610 Sports in Kansas City and said “If I’m going to believe, and I don’t have any reason not to believe, that Hillary Clinton gave classified information on hundreds if not thousands of emails on a personal server after what happened to General Petraeus, she should be buried under a jail somewhere.”

An ESPN spokesperson said they were reviewing the comments and would address the matter with Schilling.
