Tim Benz announced today on his Facebook page that his tenure with TribLive Radio in Pittsburgh is coming to an end this Thursday. Benz says that he knew the relationship wouldn’t be a long term one when he returned to the area last July but it was an important step in helping him reestablish his connections in the Pittsburgh market after leaving the city to co-host middays on WEEI in Boston.
Benz will remain involved in local Pittsburgh sports radio circles through his work on the Steelers radio network. He’ll also remain involved doing fill-in work for ESPN Pittsburgh and 105.9 The X.
From the sound of the post, it appears that Guy Junker is also departing TribLive Radio. Benz hinted that another relationship could be forthcoming at the start of the football season. Whether that’s a solo affair or involves Junker remains to be seen. No word yet from TribLive Radio on how they will replace Benz and Junker.
