Tim Spence To Program Denver Sports 760 and KHOW

Tim Spence spent the past year programming iHeart’s sports and news talk stations in Hartford and New Haven, Connecticut, and sharing the airwaves with former MLB pitcher Rob Dibble on his afternoon show on 97.9 ESPN. But although his stay was enjoyable, the allure of going home was too good to pass up.

It’s expected to be officially announced soon that Spence has agreed to serve as Program Director of Denver Sports 760 and KHOW, a conservative talk station. Both brands are owned and operated by iHeart. His start date is expected to be October 1st.

For Spence this will be his third tour of duty programming sports in the Denver market. He helped launch 950 The Fan in 1995, and ran the brand for Lincoln Financial for fifteen years. He then signed on with the Front Range Sports Network where he oversaw programming for ESPN 102.3 for a little more than four years before moving on. The company shut down operations and sold at the end of 2015, roughly a year and a half after Spence departed.

With Spence moving back to Denver, iHeart Hartford/New Haven will begin looking immediately for a new programming boss. The job posting is now available in our jobs section.
