Sites for three new markets launched today on The Athletic. That brings the total to 26 local sites in the United States and 8 in Canada, including both a French and English site covering sports in Montreal.
The first of the new markets to launch is Atlanta. The Athletic is devoting three writers to Braves coverage on the site. There are also dedicated reporters for the Falcons, Georgia Bulldogs, and Atlanta United. Chris Kirschner will cover both Georgia Tech and the Hawks.
Next, Baltimore is getting its own edition of The Athletic. Dan Connolly will cover the Orioles. Jeff Rzebiec will cover the Ravens. Patrick Stevens will cover the Maryland Terrapins.
Finally, The Athletic has launched a Wisconsin site. It features two beat writers for the Milwaukee Brewers as well as dedicated writers for the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. Currently, there is no one assigned to the Milwaukee Bucks beat for the new site.
