The lynchpin of ESPN’s afternoon lineup, Pardon the Interruption, will pay tribute to the alma maters of its two hosts next week. The show will be taped in Evanston, Illinois at Welsh-Ryan Arena before a basketball game between Tony Kornheiser’s Binghamton Bearcats and Michael Wilbon’s Northwestern Wildcats.
Wilbon is a famously proud Northwestern alum and Chicago sports fan. His constant boasting about the school led Kornheiser to take up the mantel for his own alma mater and work in Binghamton references wherever he could on PTI.
The game itself will be broadcast on ESPNEWS and feature Kornheiser and Wilbon as color analysts. Will Flemming will call the play-by-play. It will be part of a busy night of play-by-play across the ESPN family of networks that includes the NBA, boxing, college football and college basketball.
Kornheiser and Wilbon are doing their part to hype the special event on November 16. They released a preview video on ESPN’s Front Row site.
