Whether you realize it or not, you may know more about ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark’s health than you think you do. His 12 year NFL career included a stop in Pittsburgh, where he famously had to sit out a playoff game in Denver due to complications with his sickle cell trait.
Yesterday, we learned a little bit more about Clark’s health. He had to leave the studio in the middle of an episode of NFL Live to go to a nearby hospital. He had walked into a camera on the set during filming. That resulted in a cut that required stitches. The news of an injury was, naturally, broken by Clark’s co-worker Adam Schefter.
Injury update: @Realrclark25 is now at a local CT hospital, receiving 2-3 stitches on his forehead, after accidentally walking into a camera during a commercial break of NFL Live, per sources. Clark is probable for NFL Live next week.

Schefty also managed to receive photos of the injury once surgery was over.

For his part, Clark tweeted an apology to his co-hosts for his clumsiness.
I’d like to apologize to my teammates @WendiNix_ESPN @AdamSchefter @tthasselbeck !! Left y’all to finish the show without me. I have to learn to play through injuries like this. I’ll be back soon, the comeback starts now!

The injury is clearly not that serious. Clark is expected back to work today.
