Caitlyn Jenner: I Am Trans, but I’m Not a Trans Activist

Date:

Fox News contributor Caitlyn Jenner made her first official appearance on the network Friday after being hired last week. The Olympic gold medalist and reality TV star appeared on “Hannity” to discuss Florida’s controversial Parents’ Bill of Rights.

“I’m a commonsense person. And that is what you call common sense,” Jenner said. “I am all for parental rights.”

Left-leaning pundits have dubbed Florida’s legislation the “Don’t Say Gay” bill because it prohibits school personnel or third parties from discussing anything regarding sexual orientation or sexual identity to kids in kindergarten through third grade.

Jenner’s political background includes a California gubernatorial run during last year’s recall election. Jenner told Hannity her main motivation for getting involved in politics was a better future for her 20 grandchildren.

“Honestly, I was holding my 1-week-old granddaughter, little Goldie Jenner just last week, and I was thinking what are we going to do? What’s her life going to be like?” she said. “And I want to help change that.”

Last week, Fox News announced that Jenner will offer commentary and analysis across FOX News Channel (FNC) programming and various FOX News Media platforms. Jenner told Hannity that her role at the network will not include that of a “trans activist.”

“I had a lot of talks, actually, even with you, Sean, and other people at Fox when we were negotiating this deal. As you know, as you might know, I am trans. And — but I’m not a trans activist. That’s just one part of my life. There’s so much more to me.”
