Ronda Rousey To Guest Host SportsCenter

Ronda Rousey can add another first to her career.  The first UFC women’s champion and the first woman to headline a UFC event will become the first-ever female athlete to guest anchor ESPN’s SportsCenter.

Winner of the 2015 ESPY for Best Female Athlete and Best Fighter, Rousey joins 6 p.m. ET SportsCenteranchor Lindsay Czarniak for this Wednesday’s show, a little over a month before her UFC 193 Bantamweight title bout against Holly Holm on November 14 in Melbourne Australia.

“I’m excited to co-host SportsCenter with Lindsay on Wednesday,” said Rousey.  “I’ve always appreciated the support ESPN has shown me and I’m honored to be the first female celebrity co-host!”

It will be a week of iconic TV show appearances for Rousey with her SportsCenter spot coming on the heels of Tuesday night’s scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. In addition to the 6 p.m. SportsCenter, Rousey’s Bristol, Conn. visit will include appearances on Mike & Mike, First Take and the midnight SportsCenter with Scott Van Pelt.

The November card marks the first time two women’s bouts will headline a UFC card. Co-featured at the event will be a UFC Strawweight Championship match between champion Joanna Jędrzejczyk and Valérie Létourneau.
