San Diego’s most read sports columnist – Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union Tribune – joins The Mighty 1090 to host the evening “Trending Now” show beginning tonight ( Monday January, 4th). Acee will offer his own “take” on the hottest San Diego sports topics, conduct unique, compelling interviews of top sports figures and interact with fans via phone and social media.
Acee – who will continue his role as columnist for the San Diego Union-Tribune, commented: “This is an awesome opportunity — to expand my interaction with sports fans, to dive deeper into what is happening in the sports world and to spar every day with Scott Kaplan.”

Kevin Acee has been at the Union-Tribune since 1999 and a sportswriter for more than two decades. Prior to assuming his role as a columnist in 2012, Acee was the Union-Tribune’s Chargers beat writer for seven seasons and also spent two seasons as the paper’s San Diego State football beat writer. A San Diego native and Chico State alumnus, Acee covered the Anaheim Angels for the Orange County Register and the Los Angeles Dodgers for the Daily News of Los Angeles. He lives in Fallbrook with his wife, Kristi, and two sons.
