97.1 The Fan in Columbus has concluded their search for a new voice of Ohio State sports. The radio station has hired Matt Andrews, who will handle play-by-play for Ohio State baseball, and Ohio State women’s basketball. He’ll also provide weekday morning SportsCenter updates on the radio station, and add football duties to the sports division of the Ohio News Network.
Prior to earning the opportunity, Andrews served as the voice of the Louisville Bats since 2003. The Bats are the AAA farm team for the Cincinnati Reds. He’s also worked on Louisville Cardinals broadcasts since 2011 handling the play-by-play duties for women’s basketball.
Andrews is an Ohio State graduate who worked at 820 WOSU for several years. The station says he will remain with the Bats through June 29th, and begin his tenure at The Fan on Monday, July 18th.
