Sports Radio 610 Makes Lineup Changes

Sports Radio 610 in Houston is hoping to overcome a ratings slump by making changes to its weekday lineup. The moves represent the biggest adjustments the station has made to its weekday schedule over the past four years.

Starting Tuesday May 29th, nighttime host Paul Gallant will be added to mornings, joining Mike Meltser and Seth Payne. Gallant has been with 610 since 2011. Meltser and Payne have worked together since 2013.

610 is also retooling its midday show, dropping Cody Stoots and elevating morning producer Landry Locker and rehiring former host Fred Davis. Davis and Locker will now team with Stoots’ former co-host John Lopez.

The one show that remains unaffected is the afternoon show featuring Sean Pendergast, Rich Lord and Ted Johnson. “The Triple Threat” as they’re known will continue to host weekdays from 2p-6p CT. No word yet on what 610 has planned for evenings.

“Part of remaining on top is continuing to evolve with the needs of the Houston audience,” said Sarah Frazier, market manager for Entercom’s Houston radio stations. “I’m excited about the energy that Paul will bring to mornings and Fred and Landry will bring to middays.”

In the most recent Nielsen ratings, 610’s weekday shows failed to win their dayparts against market competitors among Men 25-54. That’s unfamiliar territory for the station and a spot they’re looking to get out of quickly.
