As the 2024 election nears, Fox News is offering one final chance for Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris to debate.
The network has proposed two dates — Thursday, October 24th and Sunday, October 27th — for the candidates to make their final pitches to voters before Election Day on Tuesday, November 5th.
The proposed event would take place in the battleground state of Pennsylvania.
Fox News anchors Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum would serve as the debate moderators, should the two candidates accept the chance to debate. In a letter to each campaign, Fox News President Jay Wallace said “We believe Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, the faces of our political coverage, are the best choices to moderate.”
Rules for the proposed Fox News debate would be similar to those of the first two presidential debates that took place on CNN and ABC News, respectively.
“We appreciate your consideration and look forward to the opportunity to foster informed political dialogue at this pivotal moment for our nation,” the letter from Wallace concluded.
It remains to be seen if either candidate will accept the offer. Previously, Baier had asserted that Donald Trump — not Kamala Harris — was the hold up for a debate being hosted by Fox News.
