As the 2024 presidential election nears, political advertising is still on the rise with nearly half a billion dollars still reserved for candidates and causes over the next few weeks.
According to new data from AdImpact, $444.9 million dollars have been reserved by the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and the campaigns for nominees Kamala Harris and Donald Trump until Tuesday, November 5th.
The Trump campaign is outpacing Harris in the reservations, as it has $60.3 million in future spots held, while the Harris campaign sits at $57.6 million. The Democratic Party, however, has more reserved than the Republicans by a wide margin. Democrats have $208.9 million in future commercial availability reserved compared to $118.1 million for the Republican Party.
The new data also shows that more than $1 billion in political advertising aired between July 22nd — days after President Joe Biden announced he would step away from the 2024 election — and October 8th.
In that timeframe, the Democratic Party has outspent Republicans in every battleground state.

The reporting from AdImpact states that since July 22nd, 21% of all presidential political advertising has been spent in Pennsylvania, as both Republicans and Democrats view the state as the key to winning the White House in 2024.
